Power is provided by a single 90 HP four stroke outboard. The engine operates with minimum noise and vibration, and with clean exhaust emissions, which meet the US Environmental Protection Agency year 2006 standards. With a fuel capacity of 100 gallons, the range of the yacht is substantial. Safety and comfort are evident in a deep, secure cockpit with ample handrails and a safety line at the fore deck. This attention to the well being of the crew is further evident by full standing headroom in the cabin and deep, comfortable settees that are convertible to single berths. The cabin accommodations include a folding salon table that seats four comfortably, a generous 80" V-berth and a fully enclosed head opposite the galley. The galley provides a sink with fresh and sea water, two burner stove and ample storage space. Large hatches over the salon table and V-berth provide abundant light and ventilation as well an emergency egress from the cabin. Four opening ports on the cabin trunk provide additional light and ventilation. Fuel tankage is amidships below the bridge deck in an airtight compartment where fumes are vented outboard for comfort and safety. A fuel vapor detector adds additional safety. The fuel tank is fabricated from aluminum, and has been pressure tested. At this location. the pitch trim of the yacht remains constant as fuel is consumed. Sewage is contained in a 30 gallon holding tank under the bridge deck to port with pump out on the port deck. Potable water is contained in two 30 gallon tanks located under the settees in the cabin. The hull and decks are constructed to Canadian Standards Association (CSA) Quality Assurance Code Z299.3 and Z299.4 and are welded with 5083 and 6061 alloy aluminum to CSA W47.2 welding standards. This construction creates a strong and corrosion resistant yacht that requires only antifouling bottom paint for seasonal maintenance. The hull bottom is plated with 1/4" plate, the topsides, decks and windscreen frames are of 3/16" plate and the cabin sides are roof are of 1/8" plate. The cockpit and bridge decks are 3/16" tread plate for secure footing. Non-skid surfaces are provided on the foredeck. The yacht is fitted out with substantial gunwale bumpers, five mooring cleats, SOLAS compliant running lights, windscreen wiper, hydraulic Helm, and flagstaffs. The Maritime 36 is an able and attractive day and coastal cruising yacht built for the cruising couple or small family. It is strong, fuel efficient and low maintenance.
